Print of the Year Trophy Evening

Left to right: Stephen Cooper (winner in Primary category), Geoff Roberts (judge), Tony Rackham (winner in Advanced category) with their winning images

“A stunning shot” was how judge Geoff Roberts described the winning entry in the Advanced category at Viewfinders of Romsey Camera Club’s Print of the Year competition. The photograph, entitled “Snow Drop”, was taken by Tony Rackham. Stuart Bennett’s images “The Best View in Rio” and “Enjoying Storm Imogen” were placed second and third.

In the Primary category the judge awarded the trophy to “Jonathan Livingston Seagull” by Stephen Cooper; second place was given to “Bald Eagle” by Harry Borgerson and third place to “Spitfire” by Ian Whatmore.

Geoff commented on the high quality of all the images and clearly had a difficult time selecting the winners.

Our next trophy evening is on Tuesday 27th September and this time is for the PDI of the Year, in both the Primary and Advanced categories. Please get your entries in to by midnight on Friday 23rd September. The judge is Alan Cooke, who is always interesting and entertaining, so it is sure to be an evening of high quality images and helpful critique.
