Panel Trophy PDIs – Tuesday 23rd February 2016

Panel Trophy PDIs – Tuesday 23rd February 2016

The second of the Viewfinders Panel Trophies is coming up on 23rd February, this time for PDIs. This is always a well-supported evening with a good number of entries being submitted on a wide variety of subjects and themes. We have Matthew White coming along to judge the entries and it’s sure to be an entertaining night.

As we saw at the Print Panel Trophy last November, this is a great opportunity to be even more expressive and creative through your photography. All work submitted should be new to the club, not having been entered into any other competition or assessment previously, and a panel is simply a collection of three related images on any theme of your choice.

The images need to be put together in a specific manner to allow correct viewing of the PDI panels on the projector. Detailed instructions can be found in the document Image Preparation for the Digital Panel Trophy via this link to the Viewfinders website If you need any further assistance please contact Malcolm Richardson at

The images will be considered separately and also on how the panel works together as a whole, with Gold, Silver and Bronze being awarded plus any Seals of Merit the judge feels are appropriate.

Although the number of entries per member is unlimited, our Trophy Secretary, Malcolm, has helpfully advised that it is unlikely that any more than three panels each can be included, owing to an expected high level of submission. You can indicate your preference for inclusion either in your submission e-mail or by adding a 1 to the file names of your first choice panel, and a 2 to the file names of your second choice panel, etc. For example, the file names for a panel entitled ‘The Choir’ entered as first priority by author Barry Tone in the advanced class would be:

Barry Tone_The Choir 1_A1
Barry Tone_The Choir 2_A1
Barry Tone_The Choir 3_A1
Barry Tone_The Choir 4_A1
Barry Tone_The Choir 5_A1

All that remains is to submit your panels to attaching your panel images in the correct format by midnight Friday 19th February at the latest, and we look forward to a very interesting and creative evening.
