2007 SPF Exhibition Awards.
Friday 6th January 2007.
Judge:- Peter Upton. MPAGB, FRPS, EFIAP, APAGB.
The federation president Ian Bigg opened the evening by welcoming in excess of 100 guests saying that this was the 35th annual exhibition and that he believed the high standard of previous exhibitions had been equalled this year.
Ian invited everyone to help themselves to a glass of wine, soft drinks and nibbles and handed the meeting over to the temporary exhibition organiser George Walsh.
George thanked several people for their help with collecting, hanging, judging and a host of other tasks and then went on with the presentation of the various awards.
PRINTS. Herbert Dennis Trophy - Best colour print.
Highly
commended - Bob Eaton’s The Old Curiosity Window.
This
certificate was picked up by our chairman Stan Stubbs on behalf of Bob.
2nd place. – Viewfinders of Romsey CC.
This
certificate was presented to Terry Jamieson the clubs external competitions
secretary.
Commentating
after the awards ceremony Stan Stubbs said how pleased he was for Bob Eaton.
Getting an award when the standard is so high is a great achievement.
Stan was particularly pleased with the slide entry splitting such renowned clubs as Southampton and Winchester and only just being pipped for first place was just outstanding.
Congratulations to Helen & Nigel Charlton, Lynn Lambeth, Alan Hancock, Terry Jamieson and Bob Eaton.
The exhibition runs until 29th January 10am – 5pm Mon – Sat.
Well worth a visit and entry is free!
