Top Photographers at Viewfinders
At the final meeting of the Club year, Viewfinders of Romsey Camera Club awarded their Photographer of the Year trophies to those members who had produced a consistently high standard of work throughout the year. Each of them obtained the highest number of marks awarded by judges who came along to assess members’ work.
The Stan Matthews trophy for prints went to a very worthy winner – Terry Jamieson – who has delighted members and judges throughout the year with his superb natural history photographs. The Stan Webb trophy for digital images was then awarded to Sheila Read, whose images are always very creative, but often remarkable for their simplicity. The Stan Matthews trophy for slides went to Lynn Lambeth, who continues to produce high quality slides at a time when slide photography is declining in popularity.
The Club’s new season opens with their annual exhibition of members’ work in Stockbridge Town Hall of 1 and 2 September, followed by the start of their regular Club meetings. Viewfinders meet every Tuesday at 7.30pm in the Michelmersh and Timsbury Jubilee Hall and visitors are always welcome.
