Viewfinders of Romsey Camera Club’s annual exhibition of photographs was once again held in Stockbridge Town Hall, the event that traditionally opens the new club year. This year, more than 20 members put their prints on display, including those of the newer members as well as those of the more experienced photographers, and they covered a wide variety of subjects.
The exhibition was viewed by almost 320 people over the weekend of 22nd and 23rd September, and club members were on hand to provide visitors with further information about the prints. Everyone was invited to vote for their favourite image, and people really enjoyed making their selection. George Marsh received the public accolade for the best print, winning the popular vote with his superb image “Sandwich Tern and Young”.
George is one of the club’s most successful natural history photographers, and in this instance the public vote reflected the views of a number of the photographic judges, who have also given this print top awards.
Exhibition organiser Martin Brown was very pleased with the number of visitors to the exhibition and their appreciation for all the prints on show. Comments in the visitors’ book included “fantastic images”, “an excellent exhibition”, and “too hard to choose the best print”, and these reflected how much most people had enjoyed looking at members’ photographs.
